“From the initial phone conversation to the moment that the team left, we knew we were in safe and competent hands. Our vision was to provide a multi-purpose space for children in the school.
Our school encourages and supports children to develop their performance skills and we focus our curriculum heavily on the arts. Therefore, having a fully-operational lighting system, black box theatre and sound system installed has been absolutely wonderful for our children.
Not only have their performances been enhanced, giving them a real feeling of being part of a "real" show, but our Year 5 and 6 children have been trained in how to programme and operate the lighting system.
This training, from a member of the School Stage team, was comprehensive, and child friendly and has inspired some of our children to want to have a varied career in the theatre in the future.
Seeing our children's faces as they came into their first singing assembly after the installation was priceless, and every child enjoys their weekly "Disco warm-up" with the flashing lights and bass box!
Our school also has a high percentage of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, particularly in our Specialist Unit for children with complex communication and learning needs.
We wanted the school hall/performance space to be multi-functional and envisioned a sensory space where our children could come and regulate their sensory needs, as well as use the space to aid their physical and communication skills.
We have not been disappointed. The School Stage team ensured that the lights were pre-programmed to include soft-change lights, which, when coupled with the integrated sound system, offer a perfect calming space.
The atmosphere has been so successful that now all classes within the school use the space for sensory diet activities and just general calm, quiet activities.
The whole installation was professional - we were kept informed every step of the way and the team was friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive.
The after-care has also been incredible - any minor issues have been sorted out immediately. I would not hesitate to recommend School Stage
